In case you missed it, the Washington Capitals officially ruled forward Tom Wilson out for tonight’s game against the Arizona Coyotes.

The team has only deemed the injury an “upper body injury” and maintain that Wilson is merely day to day in his recovery… but anyone who knows anything about hockey knows that Wilson got his bell run by Vegas Golden Knights forward Ryan Reaves earlier this week. In short: Wilson got a taste of his own medicine.

In case you missed it, here’s the hit in question:

This was AFTER Reaves rocked Wilson twice in a shift and openly laughed in his face the second time.

Check it out:

Reaves was ejected for his hit on Wilson and did NOT receive any supplemental discipline from the league.

Wilson left the game and had his eight-game point streak (seven goals, six assists for 13 points) snapped. The power forward has generated 14 points in his 11 games back from a 14-game suspension. It’s unclear how long he’ll be out of the Caps’ lineup, but suffice it to say that his offensive production and his physically will be missed. Love him or hate him, there’s simply no one else like Wilson in the league right now.
