Former New Jersey Devils star player, Ilya Kovalchuk, recently made this striking revelation to a Russian TV channel: "I think this will be my last season in SKA. I want to return to the NHL. There're some dreams left," said the former Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy winner.

Less than two weeks ago, Kovalchuk re-signed with SKA St. Petersburg for the 2017-18 season, which based on his recent comments, will be his last in the KHL

The 34-year-old left-winger hasn’t played in the NHL since the 2012-13 lockout-shortened season. He scored 11 goals and collected 31 points in 37 games that year.

This past season, playing in the KHL, Kovalchuk scored a career-high 32 goals and amassed 78 points in 60 games.

In 816 career NHL games, Kovalchuk has 816 points.
