You wouldn't have known it but Winnipeg Jets defenseman Mark Stuart suffered a major injury on Saturday night.

Stuart played the entire game despite suffering a badly broken hand roughly mid way into the games very first period, and he had a pretty good at that. To give you an idea of just how much of a beast Stuart is, here's head coach Paul Maurice's description of the whole situation.

"I think you saw that shot he blocked," Maurice said as per the Winnipeg Free Press. "He had a fairly significant break in his hand and that’s four to six weeks he’s out.

"We knew he’d gotten hurt, he didn’t feel it needed X-ray and somehow he played the game he played, as good a game as he’s played in a number of weeks. I don’t know how he did it.

"But after the game he said he should probably get it looked at and it’s broken."

Unfortunately regardless of how tough Stuart is, the Jets have announced he will now miss four to six weeks with a broken hand.
