The 2019-20 NHL season is barely two weeks old, however several injuries have already happened to important players across the league.

We don’t even know where to start…

First of all, the biggest blow was handed to the Arizona Coyotes on Monday when it was confirmed that defenseman Nicklas Hjalmarsson will be sidelined for up to three months after blocking a shot during his last game. It fractured a bone in his leg and now the Yotes have to deal with one significant loss at the start of the season…

Several other important players have gotten injured on Monday, which makes it feel like we could be hitting in new high in the NHL…

Forwards Nico Hischier of the New Jersey Devils, Mats Zuccarello of the Minnesota Wild, David Krejci of the Boston Bruins, Jordan Eberle of the New York Islanders and Chris Kreider of the New York Rangers all got injured on Monday night.

Down in Pittsburgh, the Penguins have been losing a key forward almost every game with the most significant loss being Evgeni Malkin, who is gone for an indefinite period with a lower-body injury.

The Winnipeg Jets have gotten a few tough blows to their back end and on Tuesday blue liner Anthony Bitetto left the game due to a lower body injury.

This is what USA Today provided as a list of current players presently out with injuries all across the NHL:
