1st Pair Defenseman Out Indefinitely

Early reports suggest that Nashville Predators top defenseman Ryan Ellis is out with a lower-body injury. The Preds were in Montreal last night to face the Canadiens and lost the game 2-1 in regulation.

This could be a crucial lost for the Nashville Predators as Ellis was used on the first defensive pairing alongside Roman Josi. Ellis needed assistance to stand after he felt on the ice in a weird situation. He headed to the locker room with the help of his teammates.

The 26-year-old defenseman played 56 games this year with the Preds. He scored 11 goals and registered 18 assists for a total of 29 points. Ellis was a first rounder (11th overall) in the 2009 NHL entry draft.
