Injury report: Bruins without star player against Avs
KeyStone Press

The Boston Bruins will almost certainly be without star center Patrice Bergeron when they take on the Colorado Avalanche on Monday.

The Bruins don't have a lot to worry about just yet - they had a convincing win over the Nashville Predators in their season opener, off the backs of impressive performances by rookies Charlie McAvoy, Jake DeBrusk, and Anders Bjork

The team is also without David Backes, Torey Krug, and Noel Acciari - so there's reason to be optimistic in what this team can do when healthy.

Nonetheless, Bergeron skating with the team today is a step in the right direction, he shouldn't be too far off a return. It's key for him to be 100% before coming back, he dealt with a nagging injury all of last year and it affected his production.

So long as the kids are doing the job, he can afford to take time to heal.
