Injury report: Canucks’ Horvat out a week

It appears that Bo Horvat will not be with the Vancouver Canucks Thursday, when the team will resume their preseason calendar. 

The teams announced on Saturday that Horvat is expected to be out a week with an upper-body injury.

The injury reportedly occurred on a hit from Los Angeles Kings' Drew Doughty in the first exhibition series game in China. 

However, Horvat should be ready for the season opener against the Edmonton Oilers on Oct. 7.

Earlier this month, the 22-year-old signed a six-year, $33 million contract extension, after recording 20 goals and 52 points last season.
