Vancouver Canucks defenceman Troy Stecher left the game early last night in Detroit after colliding with Detroit Red Wings forward Tomas Tatar in the second period. Stecher appeared to accidentally go knee-on-knee with Tatar as the two players fought for a lose puck. It didn’t look like much, but as with any knee injury the results can be devastating.

Take a look:

After the team’s 4-1 victory they headed to St. Paul, Minnesota to take on the Minnesota Wild. But, absent from this morning's practice was Stecher. It's unclear how much, if any, time he'll miss but NEWS 1130 reporter Rick Dhaliwal reports that an update will come from the team later today:

Cross your fingers, Canucks fans. With Edler already out long-term, the team can hardly afford to lose another top four defender. Especially one as versatile as Stecher.
