Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan met with the media prior to tomorrow’s game against the Dallas Stars. The biggest question from reporters was about the health of two Penguins forwards in particular: Patrick Hornqvist and Conor Sheary.

The good news? Sheary could play on the team’s brief two-game road trip. The bad news? Hornqvist won’t be back anytime soon.

Sheary skated with the team this morning and could see his first action since suffering a lower body injury against the San Jose Sharks over a week ago. Officially he’s listed as week-to-week, but he’s made significant progress in rehab over the past week.

As for Hornqvist, there’s still no timetable for his return. The 31-year-old forward is also listed as week-to-week, after suffering a lower body injury against the Washington Capitals over a week ago. Given the beating that his body has taken over the years, the Pens would be wise to let him full heal in preparation for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

As for Rowney and Kuhnhackl, the two depth players, especially Rowney, could slot in when the team returns home next week.
