Injury Report: Eaves suffers setback?

The Ducks could use his magic touch.

Since being acquired by the Anaheim Ducks form the Dallas Stars at the NHL’s Trade Deadline, veteran forward Patrick Eaves has been a revelation. The 33 year-old potted 11 goals and 14 points in just 20 games for the Ducks during the regular season and has added another four points in seven games this postseason.

Unfortunately, a foot injury suffered in game 3 of the team’s second round playoff series against the Edmonton Oilers has sidelined Eaves indefinitely. He was seen on crutches prior to the Ducks’ game 7 win against the Oilers last round and was once again out of the lineup in their game 1 loss to the Nashville Predators.

It should come as no surprise then that Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reported this morning that there’s currently no timetable for Eaves’ return and that his rehabilitation is “slow going.” Not great news if you’re a Ducks fans. While the team and the player are still holding out hope for a late postseason return for Eaves, it appears as though his stint in Anaheim may be short but sweet.
