Injury Report: Excellent news for Nino!

According to a report from Dane Mizutani of the Pioneer Press, Minnesota Wild forward Nino Niederreiter is expected to take the morning skate with the team today in Saint Paul.

The Wild take on the New York Islanders at Xcel Energy Center tonight and there’s almost no way that Niederreiter gets into the lineup for the affair, but just the news that he has joined the team on the ice has to be seen as an incredibly positive sign. 

It’s been speculated that the 25-year-old forward suffered a high-ankle sprain early in the season and has been skating on his own to rehab the injury. Today’s skate will mark his return to the team, but don’t expect him on the ice for game action for at least another week.
