Injury Report: Flyers give update on Simmonds
Keystone Press

When it became clear that Philadelphia Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds was not going to return to the ice during last night’s 5-1 victory over the Florida Panthers, Flyers fans feared the worst.

Simmonds, who has started of the 2017-18 season on an absolute tear, had already picked up an assist in the game and DROPPED Panthers forward Michael Haley in a brutally one sided fight before leaving the game. If you haven’t seen the fight yet, it’s worth check out:

Probably not a good idea to chuck knuckles with Big Simmer…

Unfortunately, it looks as if Simmonds pulled a muscle or possible tweaked his knee later in the game. While it’s tough to see, this was the last shift he played before leaving the game for good:

It doesn’t look like much and fortunately it doesn’t look like Simmonds will miss much, if any time at all. According to Flyers beat writer Sam Carchidi, GM Ron Hextall will have an update on Simmonds’ condition tomorrow.

Until then… hold your breath, Flyers fans.
