When it became clear that Philadelphia Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds was not going to return to the ice during Tuesday’s 5-1 victory over the Florida Panthers, Flyers fans feared the worst.

But we have some good news for you: Simmonds jumped on the ice this morning for the team's practice and it looks like he will be available for tonight's matchup against the Nashville Predators.

The team had announced that Simmonds had been removed from the game for precautionary reasons because of a lower-body issue, and it seems to have been a good choice for the Flyers.

The 29-year-old Simmonds one of the toughest players in the league, unafraid to drop the gloves or throw big hits from time to time. He has missed just 17 games in his nine-plus NHL seasons.. This only confirms he is one tough guy!

Simmonds is off to a strong start with five goals and seven points in six games.
