While the New York Rangers are making headlines for seemingly all of the wrong reasons today after falling to the Dallas Stars by a score of 7-6 last night, it looks like the bad news will continue to mount for the time being.

It was certainly a wild affair last night, with forward Chris Kreider exacting his revenge on Cody Eakin after the latter ran netminder Henrik Lundqvist over behind the net during their December matchup. Kreider fought with Eakin and even took the liberty of hitting him in the head with Eakin's helmet, and has now been fined $5,000 by the NHL's Player Safety Department.

Now, the Rangers' official Twitter account has specified that forward Jesper Fast will be sidelined with an "upper-body injury" and is expected to miss approximately 7-10 days:

While there's no official word on what exactly this upper-body injury consists of, the former 2010 sixth-round, 157th overall draft pick was taken out of last Saturday night's matchup against the Montreal Canadiens after Andrew Shaw hit him on a questionable play.

Moreover, Kevin Hayes has taken a "maintenance day" and did not skate today.
