Joel Quenneville confirms one key player is out for tonight.

Earlier today Chicago Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville announced his team’s lineup for tonight’s game against the Nashville Predators and, unsurprisingly, it doesn’t include forward Andrew Desjardins.

The 30 year-old native of Lively, Ontario has frequently been a healthy scratch this season, but is technically out of tonight’s contest with a lower body injury. It’s debatable whether he’d actually crack the stacked Hawks lineup if healthy though, given that he’s only produced a single assist with no goals in 46 games this season.

Desjardins suffered his injury a week ago during a 4-0 loss to the Anaheim Ducks and hasn’t skated since. He’ll continue to rest and rehabilitate while awaiting an opportunity to join his teammates in their quest for another Stanley Cup.
