Injury report: Johansen's recovery after life-threatening ordeal
Keystone Press

When Ryan Johansen underwent emergency surgery to repair a potentially life-threatening acute compartment syndrome issue in his left thigh in May, Nashville Predators fans and teammates feared the worst.

However, as the team doctors expected him to make a full recovery, Johansen proved them right. On Tuesday, Johansen was back on the ice for an informal skate and confirmed to Robby Stanley of NHL.com that he has finished his rehab and is back to 100 percent.

"It feels good to be back to 100 percent and skating with the guys here getting ready for it all to start," Johansen added.

After missing the Stanley Cup final against the Pittsburgh Penguins, Johansen is looking forward to another playoff run and a full one this time around.

"Obviously we've got some unfinished business to do. We're just looking forward to getting back at it here now and going through the process of trying to put ourselves in the same situation. Just looking forward to spending each and every day moving forward now with the guys."

Nashville's season-opener will be against the Bruins in Boston on October 5th. In 82 games last season, Johansen produced 14 goals and 47 points, adding 13 points in 14 games during the post-season.
