INJURY REPORT: Leaf’s veteran spotted his hand in a cast at the Columbus airport.

An early report from Lance Hornby, Toronto Maple Leafs insiders traveling with the team, suggests that veteran player Eric Fehr might be injured.

Hornby tweeted earlier this morning that he just saw Eric Fehr walk by with his hand in a cast at the Columbus airport. He later on added that Fehr confirms he was overnight in hospital. Leaving it to team to make announcement on his fate, but looks like he’s done for the reg season.

Fehr, 31-years-old, was injured in his first game with the Maple Leafs. He had four hits and a minus-1 rating at 10:44 of ice time against Columbus during his first game.

Acquired by the deadline by the Leafs, Eric Fehr filled in on the fourth line for Nikkita Soshnikov, who got hurt in Monday’s win over Boston.

Fehr had six goals and 11 points in 52 games with Pittsburgh before he was acquired by Toronto on the deadline.

More details to come.
