There was a notable absence from the Pittsburgh Penguins practice this morning: defenseman Olli Maatta.
Despite this, it looks like Maatta will be good to for tonight’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks. That’s good news for the Pens, as they’ve missed blue liners Brian Dumoulin, Justin Schultz, Matt Hunwick and Ian Cole all for extended times this season.
In 22 games this season Maatta has two goals and 11 points, already eclipsing his seven points from 2016-17. He’s well on his way to topping his career high of 29 points.
