Injury Report: NHL captain and superstar could miss 10+ games
Keystone Press

According to a report from TSN 1200 reporter and Ottawa Senators insider Ian Mendes, it appears as though Sens captain Erik Karlsson will not be ready for the team’s regular season opener on October 5th.

Even worse news, he may not be back in the lineup until November, meaning he could miss the team’s first dozen games in the month of October. “I’m going to come back when I'm 100 percent - whether that's in October or November," Karlsson said on air with Mendes.

That’s not good news for Sens fans. The two-time Norris Trophy winning defenseman is arguably the best blue liner in the entire NHL and is the driving force behind his team’s offence. Without him in the lineup, the Sens will have to rely heavily on veterans like Dion Phaneuf and hope that youngsters like Cody Ceci and Thomas Chabot.
