Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Justin Schultz has officially been diagnosed with a concussion. Schultz left the game last night during the team’s 2-1 OT win over the Edmonton Oilers after being tripped up by Oilers winger Drake Caggiula in the first period.

While the team hasn’t commented on the severity of the injury and hasn’t set a return date for Schultz, it’s expected that they’ll take a cautious approach. Consider Schultz to be more week-to-week than day-to-day for now.

The 27-year-old blue liner has one goal and two assists through 10 games this season and is averaging 18:37 of ice time per game this season.
