When Bobby Ryan returned to the Ottawa Senators lineup earlier this season after missing nearly a month with a broken finger injury, expectations were low. Ryan was plodding his way through his least productive season in a decade and appeared to be working his way out of the team’s top six forward group. Flash forward to the Stanley Cup playoffs and Ryan looks like a new man.

In 9 games this postseason, Ryan has 4 goals and 4 assists and has been instrumental in the Sens’ recent success. That’s why when he went down with an injury in game 3 against the New York Rangers, Sens’ fans held their breath and hoped for the best. Well…you’re free to now exhale, Ottawa.

Ottawa Sun columnist Bruce Garrioch reported today that Ryan is likely to be in the team’s lineup when they take to the ice for game 4 at Madison Square Garden tomorrow.

No word yet on the status of fellow injured forward Zack Smith, however. So stay tuned for more information on his availability.
