Injury Report: Sens could get CRUCIAL player back for game 2
Keystone Press

Last night’s thrilling 2-1 overtime victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins in game 1 of the Eastern Conference championships had Ottawa Senators fans literally dancing in the streets yesterday evening. While today’s news won’t elicit the same kind of response, it’s good news nonetheless.

Stabling has been a big part of the Sens forward group since being acquired by the Carolina Hurricanes in advance of the NHL’s Trade Deadline, but missed game 1 of the series with an undisclosed injury. Despite only producing two assists in 12 games this postseason, Stalberg has been a solid acquisition for the Sens and slots well into the team’s third and fourth lines. With his combination of size and checking ability in the lineup, the Sens are a much more complete team and his return could provide them with an additional defensive boost.
