Injury report: Star forward likely out for season opener
KeyStone Press

The Minnesota Wild will likely have to do without one of their star forwards on opening night.

Zach Parise has been dealing with back issues and hasn't practiced with the team in several days. In interview with The Star Tribune, coach Bruce Boudreau stated that "I know he wants to practice Monday, and if he can practice three real good days with contact, I think he’d like to play on Thursday."

Seeing as it's already Monday and he has yet to practice, it is unlikely that Parise gets those three good practices in before the season opener on Thursday night.

The winger put up his lowest points-per-game total since his rookie season, and second lowest overall points total since that inaugural year, with 42 in 69 games.

Parise is signed for 8 more years carrying an AAV of $7,538,462. Yikes.
