Injury Report: Wings give update on Nyquist’s status

Things got off to a good start last night for Detroit Red Wings forward Gustav Nyquist. The 28-year-old forward scored a goal in the first period and the Wings looked well on their way to victory when Nyquist collided with Edmonton Oilers defenseman Erik Gryba at the Red Wings blueline.

Ouch. While it looks ugly, Nyquist will reportedly not miss much time. The injury is being labelled as “minor” by the team and he’s officially listed as day-to-day.
