Injury Update: Babcock makes announcement on JVR

Toronto Maple Leafs forward James van Riemsdyk was missing from the team’s practice this morning, leading many to speculate that the big winger will be out of the team’s lineup tomorrow night against the Carolina Hurricanes. 

Van Riemsdyk was hit hard by Los Angeles Kings forward Trevor Lewis and did not return for the remainder of the game. Here’s the hit and the resulting injury, in question:

Ouch. Thankfully it doesn’t look like JVR will miss anytime as a result. TSN reporter Kristen Shilton managed to get an update from Leafs head coach Mike Babcock and it looks encouraging:

Keep your fingers crossed, Leafs fans. Here’s hoping JVR can dust himself off in time for puck drop tomorrow.
