INJURY UPDATE: Bruins defenseman back on the ice
KEYSTONE PRESS

It’s a sight nobody has seen in far to long: Tory Krug skating.

The young Bruins blueliner took to the ice in practice this morning for the first time in what seems like an eternity. Especially to Boston fans.

Krug sustained a lower-body injury that has kept him out of the lineup since April 7th. While seeing him take to the ice again is a great sign, head coach Bruce Cassidy was quick to bring things back down to earth:

With Boston facing elimination, again, in Game 6 of their series against the Ottawa Senators, any news is good news if it doesn’t involve another injury to the Bruins’ lineup.

Boston will continue to have to make due without Brandon Carlo, Adam McQuaid, and Krug on defense. Jimmy Hayes and David Krejci will also miss Game 6 and are both listed as day-to-day.

Krejci was the victim of a brutal knee-on-knee collision with Denis Wideman:

Game 6 will return to the TD Garden in Boston with the Ottawa Senators leading the series 3-2. The Bruins held off elimination in spectacular fashion with a double-overtime win, and can settle for nothing less on Sunday April 23rd if they want to keep their Stanley Cup dreams alive.
