When it was announced that Ottawa Senators forward Clarke MacArthur had left game 2 of his team’s second round playoff series against the New York Rangers with an injury, Sens fans feared the worst. When the dreaded phrase, “upper-body injury” was uttered however, they were sent into a absolute panic.

MaArthur’s concussion issues are no secret. The 32 year-old native of Lloyminster, SK missed nearly two calendar years of hockey while he dealt with post-concussion symptoms. His return to the Sens lineup last month has given the team an incredible boost and his loss would be major for the team.

Fortunately, head coach Guy Boucher confirmed that the injury is not related to any previous head injuries and that MacArthur will join his team in New York to possibly play in game 3. No decision has been made yet on MacArthur’s status, but he did practice with the team this morning, which is an indication that he’ll be in the lineup.
