Injury Update: Sens status for game 1

When the Ottawa Senators take to the ice at Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa for game 1 of their second round series against the New York Rangers, they’ll do so with the healthiest lineup they’ve had all season. 

Bruce Garrioch of the Postmedia Sun reported earlier this morning that Sens head coach Guy Boucher is hopeful that his entire team will be healthy and ready to go on Thursday evening. That, of course, includes captain Erik Karlsson who has been battling through a foot injury. It also includes Marc Methot who had been sidelined with a hand injury, the result of a wicked two-handed slash by Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby a month ago.

The only player expected to be on the shelf for the Sens is Tom Pyatt. Rumor has it that he’s battling not just one, but two injuries. Regardless of how Boucher draws up his forward lines and defensive pairings against the Rangers this series, he’s likely to have at least a couple more options than he had in the team’s first round series against the Boston Bruins.
