Insider believes now is the time for a big trade from the Jets.

This would be great to see.

While insider Elliotte Friedman is generally asked about trades being discussed in the National Hockey League this week he was part of a panel when he was asked about a trade he would want to see.

Surprisingly Friedman didn't go near any of the major rumors floating around the NHL right now, and instead pointed to the potential of a juicy trade from the Winnipeg Jets organization.

“To me it says, ‘Is it important to make the playoffs this year,’” noted the Insider as per Chris Nichols of Fanrag Sports. “I would love to see Winnipeg take a chance on someone like Ben Bishop for the rest of the season. You don’t have to keep him. You can hand the net back to Hellebuyck next year. But if you’re asking me a trade I’d like to see made, I’d love to see Winnipeg try Ben Bishop.”

While Bishop has been having a bit of a down season, he's known for some time that his future with Tampa is limited and by all accounts that has impacted his play on the ice. A fresh start could be huge for both Bishop and the Jets who have been unable to find consistent goaltending at any point this season, and a veteran like Bishop could also be great to have around your young 23-year-old goaltender of the future Connor Hellebuyck.

This may be just pure speculation from Friedman but it's a move we certainly would love to see.
