Although there are still a number of teams competing to be the 2019 Stanley Cup Champions there are an even greater number of teams who's season has come to an end. That second group of teams will be filled with management looking to fix the errors that led them to their current positions and that, at times, can lead to some big time trades around the National Hockey League.

One of the biggest rumors following a playoff elimination has been one involving the Nashville Predators and their relationship with veteran defenseman P.K. Subban. It is no secret that locker room issues played a significant role in the shocking trade that eventually saw Subban traded out of Montreal by the Canadiens and to Nashville and, although no one has gone on record to confirm this, there have been some rumblings that Subban may have worn out his welcome in Nashville as well. Of course there are plenty of teams that could use a player as dynamic and as talented as P.K. Subban in their line up, and one National Hockey League insider believes it would be a perfect fit for the Philadelphia Flyers.

From Flyers insider Sam Carchidi:

There are reports that Nashville’s P.K. Subban is available. If so, he checks all the boxes surrounding one of the Flyers’ important needs.

Someone who is righthanded, plays with an edge, and would complement Ivan Provorov on the Flyers’ top defensive pairing? Check.

Someone who is a proven veteran — a former winner of the Norris Trophy, awarded to the lea+gue’s top defenseman — who would anchor the Flyers’ young group of blue-liners? Check.

An outspoken guy who would instantly become a leader in the Flyers’ laid-back locker room? Check.

Subban would give the Flyers a legitimate No. 1 defenseman for the first time since Chris Pronger was healthy.

That would of course be a blockbuster move on the part of the Flyers, but you have to expect that a player like P..K. Subban is going to cost you an arm and a leg to acquire. Well Carchidi believes the Flyers are the perfect fit for the other half of the deal as well, and I must admit this would be an extremely interesting trade.

Carchidi has proposed that the Flyers could deal forward Jakub Voracek to Nashville as part of the trade to acquire Subban, and Nashville Predators' head coach Peter Laviolette knows Jakub Voracek very well. There's also a history between Flyers general manager Chuck Fletcher and Nashville Predators general manager David Poile so this one may not be as crazy as it seems. Carchidi also adds that the Predators could want a defenseman back in this deal, and suggested that the Flyers could package Robert Hagg as a part of this trade.

Do you make the deal if you're the Flyers? Do you do it if you're the Predators? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section.
