There has been speculation that with the season underway, the trade demands of Jacob Trouba could shift drastically with him now missing actual games and actual game checks, but that does not appear to be the case at all.

Trouba's agent Kurt Overhardt spoke to the Winnipeg Free Press about the the possibility of his agent caving in to the pressure, and it sounds like Trouba is in this one for the long haul.

"It’s only Oct. 17... it's not something on our minds," Overhardt said Monday. "There’s obviously a lot of time between now and then. We’re going to continue to keep working in good faith and try helping to facilitate a positive transaction so everyone can benefit.

"It’s not really an issue at this point."

Of course it's easy to say now, but come closer to December 1st and the option to trade him will be off the table, with Trouba forced to remain a Jet for the remainder of the season even without a contract. Asked if he had a plan should that issue arise Trouba's agent was far more tight lipped this time around.

"We have to contemplate everything, but it’s not something we are going to discuss as it involves our client and it’s a private matter," he said, adding he'd spoken with Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff earlier in the day. "Any of the conversations we have with (the Jets) are very amicable and those are private, too."

This one seems like it's far from over.
