A young Toronto Maple Leafs fan had his sights set on a Leafs cake for his 8th birthday party and… well technically he got what he asked for. You see, the bakery who made Jacob’s birthday cake mistakenly placed a Maple Leaf Foods logo on the cake, rather than a Toronto Maple Leafs logo.

Check it out:

Bonne fete, Jacob.

For those unaware, Maple Leaf Foods is a corporate GIANT in Canada and produces packaged meats like hot dogs, lunch meat, bacon, ham, bologna, etc. Safe to say that, while he may enjoy their products, Jacob isn’t exactly a Maple Leaf Foods fanatic.

Luckily, the young Leafs fan took it all in stride and didn’t let the mistake ruin his 8th birthday party.

“We had a good laugh,” said Jacob’s step-mother Tania Lévesque, whose post about the incident has been widely shared on Facebook.

While the parents were amused, most of the kids were confused.

“They don’t know anything about cold cuts,” deadpanned Lévesque.

Jacob’s father and grandfather cheer on the Leafs rival Montreal Canadiens, yet Jacob wears his Leafs toque and the jersey with pride.

“I don’t know where he gets that,” Lévesque said.
