There is now some major heat between these two teams and you have to wonder if it may very well spill over into the 2019 - 2020 National Hockey League regular season or better yet if it could somehow spill over into the postseason should a small miracle happen.

On Saturday night during the third period of the match up between the Philadelphia Flyers and the New York Islanders there was a highly controversial hit that has drawn the ire of both respective fan bases. It appeared as though veteran New York Islanders defenseman Johnny Boychuk was lining up Philadelphia Flyers star forward Jakub Voracek for a big hit as Voracek was chasing the puck into the end boards, but it was not to be for Boychuk.

You see Voracek either saw or sensed that the Islanders blue liner was coming up behind him and he quickly braced himself for the impact and threw his own weight back at Boychuk. Thereverse hit from Voracek appeared to catch Boychuk completely off guard and there is no question that Boychuk was rocked hard on the play. The Islanders defenseman would remain down in the ice for several long moments, often clutching at his shoulder indicating that he may have duffers a significant injury to that part of his body, but thankfully he would be able to get up and skate off the ice under his own power.

It was after Boychuk got up however that another incident occurred that caused a bit of a stir on social media. As Boychuk was skating off the ice he made sure he got right up in Voracek's face, pointing his finger right at the Flyers talented forward. It appeared as though Boychuk was threatening Voracek based on his body language and Voracek all but confirmed that following the game.

Speaking with reporters Voracek did not hold anything back and openly voiced his disdain for Boychuk, making no effort at all to hide how much he disliked the man. Voracek accused Boychuk of behaving as if it was "Wrestlemania" out there and mocked his threats on ice, all before calling out Boychuk for sucker punching a 19 year old kid earlier in the season.

Something tells me Boychuk isn't going to be too thrilled about this one.
