James Neal could be traded to the Montreal Canadiens!

The Vegas Golden Knights are having an unbelievable start so far but no one actually believes they will be able to keep up the pace.

In fact, TSN insider Darren Dreger believes star forward James Neal could and should be traded by the Knights before the trade deadline. That's what he said on his segment at Vancouver's TSN 1040.

With his contract up at the end of the season, he'll be a UFA and could even sign back in Vegas to let them benefit from whatever return they may get by trading him in a bidding war.

Dreger actually thinks the Montreal Canadiens could be the best fit not only in their top-6 but to fit his 6 million salary.

“Or we talked about the Vegas Golden Knights – what about James Neal? He’s going to be a pending unrestricted free agent. His name, to some degree, is out there. Not that they’re shopping him, but why wouldn’t you want to trade James Neal to try and get something sweet back before the February 26 trade deadline. If he’s a roaring success in Vegas, then sign him back as an unrestricted free agent. So maybe that’s another name Montreal checks out.”

Neal would for sure provide much needed offense to Habs offense that need a spark right now.
