He could not put any weight on it.

This is not what the Dallas Stars wanted to see in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs to be sure.

The Stars are in Nashville tonight facing off against the Predators for the second time in their first round series and it has been a rough night in terms of injuries for both organizations. It was the Nashville Predators who started off the night by taking a big hit when they lost trade deadline acquisition Wayne Simmonds after he took a hard shot off the knee cap

It would not be very long however before the Stars would suffer a big loss of their own, and if I am being perfectly honest the injury to Dallas Stars defenseman Mattias Janmark looked pretty gruesome when compared to the one that afflicted Simmonds. Janmark went crashing hard into the boards in the opening moments of the second period and looked as if he twisted his ankle pretty bad in the process. Janmark would not move for a very long time after going into the boards and when he finally did move he was unable to put any weight down on his injured leg, something that could point to the fact that he is pretty banged up here.

There has been no official update from the Dallas Stars at this time but I would be somewhat surprised if Janmark makes his return to the game this evening.

Update: Well much to my surprise Janmark has returned.
