When National Hockey League legend Jaromir Jagr signed with the Calgary Flames, history would have you believe that he should have immediately become public enemy number one in Edmonton, but Jagr has a way of skating above all of that.

On Thursday Jagr once again demonstrated that the intense rivalry in the Battle of Alberta wasn't really phasing him in the least when he made a very bold prediction about Oilers superstar Connor McDavid.

Jagr showed a tremendous respect for McDavid's skills when he suggested that McDavid could potentially beat Wayne Gretzky's single season record for most goals in a season.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if he scored 100 goals," said Jagr. "It’s possible.”

Gretzky set the record back in the 1981-1982 season when he recorded an incredible 92 goals, a mark that no one has even come close to achieving except Gretzky himself when he scored 87 goals in the 1983-1984 season.

It's an extremely bold prediction from Jagr, and an incredible sign of his respect for the Oilers captain.
