Jeremy Roenick absolutely eviscerates the Oilers in explosive rant on live TV!

Most fans are fed up with the Edmonton Oilers and were delighted to know that general manager Peter Chiarelli had been fired in the middle of the night, following a third straight home loss, this time to the Detroit Red Wings.

We bet former NHLer and NBC analyst Jeremy Roenick will be too.

During the second intermission of the contest between the Oilers and the Wings, the former NHLer turned analyst. who has never been one to sugar coat how he felt, gave the most blunt analysis on the Oilers' situation.

He completely ripped apart the team, eviscerated the players in an all-time rant on and NHL on NBC broadcast, and you better believe this is going viral.

“I can’t believe they’re a professional hockey league team ... Their 17 other skaters might have the lowest hockey IQ of any team I’ve ever seen. It’s embarrassing.”

Funny enough, while Roenick was eviscerating the Oilers, Chiarelli was being announced by CEO Bob Nicholson that he was being let go. During today's press conference, Nicholson explained he wanted to give him a chance to leave the building quietly.

JR is known to have no issue expressing his frustration, however, for once, we have to admit the man is right.

After the game, Roenick donned a paper bag over his head, channelling his inner Oilers fan, as he explained he was a shame of the Oilers. Hours later, Chiarelli was given the boot.

While a change in the front office could help the Oilers tremendously, former NHLer and TSN analyst Dave Poulin noted last night on That's Hockey that the change needs to start with the players, who have to stop depending on McDavid only. A change of culture could be what really brings the Oilers back in contention.

However, for now, this seems like a good step in the right direction, and let's hope it makes Roenick happier than he was last night talking about the Oilers...
