This Jets fan was not amused.

The Toronto Maple Leafs fan base has once again been made to look bad and the unfortunate reality here is that it is likely a few rotten apples that are spoiling things for the whole bunch.

A Winnipeg Jets fan known only as Furhan has taken to social media to express his dismay at the treatment he received during a recent matchup between his Winnipeg Jets and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Now Furhan has not provided any additional context here but I think it is safe to assume that this video is from the Wednesday night matchup that took place between the Jets and Maple Leafs earlier in the week, a game that the Jets would eventually go on to win by a score of 4 - 3.

In the video Furhan can be seen being taunted by a number of fans at Scotiabank Arena and frankly that is to be expected when you wear the jersey of the rival team in a hostile building. This is even more true when we start to talk about hockey hotbeds and there are not many hotter than the city of Toronto, but no one was complaining about that thankfully. Unfortunately however according to Furhan things went much further than mere taunts and he is now claiming that he was touched, poked and even had things thrown at him during the course of the game, presumably ruining the experience for him.

Here is the message he relayed on social media:

is it normal for Maple Leafs fans to dump popcorn on opposing team fans? trash talking fine, but who throws food? I dont know this guy & that popcorn was greasy and got all over my face, hair & clothes. If anything, I just want people to relax and realize that playful trash talk is all fun and games, but throwing food at a fan or poking or touching is how things usually escalate. Be smart!

That is of course a fine message to be sending but unfortunately it won't do much for the fact that Furhan's experience on Wednesday night was ruined by a few unruly fans in Toronto. No doubt if this gets back to the Maple Leafs they will do right by Furhan, so it will be interesting to see how much traction this gains.
