It had been a tough regular season for Winnipeg Jets star forward Patrik Laine. We bet he was looking forward to the playoffs, hoping he could redeem himself after ending the regular season with just 10 goals in the last four months of the calendar.

The beast has finally awaken and head coach Paul Maurice is loving it. So far in the tight series agains the St. Louis Blues that is now tied at  two games apiece, Laine has posted three stunning goals and has been able to move quickly and brilliantly on the ice. He creates space and is a constant threat for the Blues.

The Patrik Laine the Jets need now!

On Thursday, ahead of this pivotal Game 5 in Winnipeg, Maurice met with media members and made one of the boldest statement about his young star player.

According to TSN’s Darren Dreger, Maurice declared Game 4 as the best game Laine has played as a Winnipeg Jet.

That is quite the statement. Jets fans will hope that the words of Maurice will pump Laine even more for tonight’s contest and will prompt the young forward to have a big game and get his team the lead in this series.
