The Winnipeg Jets had to make a transaction on Friday, recalling goaltender Eric Comrie from the Manitoba Moose under emergency conditions.

The 23-year-old netminder has played in 40 games for the Moose this season and has a 20-15-2 record with two shutouts, a 2.73 goals-against average, and a .917 save percentage.

He has taken part in four games for the Jets in the prior two seasons and has a 2-2-0 record. Comrie appeared in 176 games for the Moose over six seasons and has a 72-82-20 record with eight shutouts, a 2.89 GAA, and a .910 SV%. He made his first nine playoff appearances for Manitoba last season and went 3-6-0 with a 3.18 GAA and a .908 SV%.

Comrie was drafted by the Jets in the second round, 59th overall, in the 2013 NHL Draft.

The Jets did not say if starter Connor Hellebuyck was injured, however, backup Laurent Broissoit was the only goalie present this morning for practice.

Later after practice, head coach Paul Maurice revealed that Hellebuyck was ill and will not suit up tonight.

The Jets are taking on the Predators tonight in Winnipeg.
