John Scott makes a big announcement regarding his future.

It's crazy to think about it, but even now, well after the buzz surrounding the All-Star game should have died down, John Scott may very well be the most popular hockey player in all of North America, and he's not even on an NHL roster.

Scott made a big announcement during a radio interview on Sportsnet's 590 The Fan's Dean Blundell Show this morning, one that we had heard was rumored following the All-Star game. According to Scott the rumors of a proposed John Scott movie are accurate, and it's coming.

“The movie thing is still going to happen, which is going to be super cool,” Scott told Dean Blundell on Sportsnet 590 The Fan on Wednesday. “The guy from Goon would probably be perfect [to play me], but he’s already spoken for, so I’m going to have to look somewhere else.”

It sounds like this thing is going to get made sooner rather than later, as the producers are likely to want to capitalize on Scott's popularity while they can.

"I think they want to do [the movie] fairly quickly while it's still fresh in everyone's mind," said Scott, who has no urge to write a book yet.

Something tells me a lot of NHL fans are going to be tuning in for this one.
