Jonathan Drouin almost got traded to the Minnesota Wild!

That would have been a serious game changer.

When the Habs acquired 22-year-old forward Jonathan Drouin, the fans were extremely happy to know that such a young and talented forward joined the team, even though the price Marc Bergevin paid was pretty expensive. But it turns out Montreal wasn't the only team hoping to land Drouin.

According to Journal de Montréal's Marc de Foy, the Minnesota Wild were almost able to make a deal with Steve Yzerman:

"The Minnesota Wild management really thought they were going to land Drouin. They were extremely surprised to learn that the Tampa Bay Lightning decided to trade him for Mikhal Sergachev, since the Wild offered a defenseman who's already established in the NHL."

It's hard to know who exactly Minnesota offered to the Habs. Some suggest it was 23-year-old blueliner Matt Dumba, while others believe Swedish d-man Jonas Brodin.

Would you imagine Drouin sporting a white and green uniform instead?
