The Montreal Canadiens have acquired a young center.

According to a breaking news report from Sportsnet National Hockey League insider Elliotte Friedman the Montreal Canadiens have just acquired 26 year old center Jordan Weal from the Arizona Coyotes. This now marks the second time Weal has been traded this season after previously having been dealt by the Philadelphia Flyers to the Arizona Coyotes, obviously not a good sign for a young player that plays a very important position in the National Hockey League.

Weal played in 28 games for the Flyers during the 2018 - 2019 National Hockey League regular season recording just 3 goals and 6 assists for a total of 9 points and finished his run in Philly with a plus minus rating of -5 on the season. After the move to Arizona he would appear in an additional 19 games this time recording only 1 goal and 1 assist for a total of 2 points and a plus minus rating of -3 on the season.

Going back the other way to the Arizona Coyotes will be another 26 year old center in the form Michael Chaput who simply has not worked out in Montreal for the Canadiens. Chaput has appeared in a total of 32 games for the Montreal Canadiens this season but in spite of that never managed to find the back of the net for the Habs contributing no goals and only 5 assists for a total of 5 points on the season. Additionally he has added 14 penalty minutes and is a plus minus of -4 on the seaosn thus far.
