Junior player receives 25 game suspension after demolishing goalie with open ice hit

In case you missed it yesterday, the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League has suspended Greg Mulhall of the Yorkton Terriers 25 games for this hit on goaltender Berk Berkeliev of the Melville Millionaires.

You read that correctly… Mulhall hit the Millionaires’ goalie. And, we’re not talking about a little bump here. Berkeliev was absolutely CRUSHED in open ice while chasing a loose puck.

Berkeliev left the game due to injury and was taken to hospital for precautionary reasons.  He was later released from hospital and is reportedly in good health.
