Just a bump in the road

After winning 12 straight games, the Chicago Blackhawks have hit a bit of a bump in the road by losing back to back games.

Last night's 4-0 loss definitely hurts more than the 2-1 loss suffered the night before but the Hawks know that as much as you want to win every game, sometimes things don't go your way. Just ask the team that beat them last night. The Florida Panthers had also had a 12 game winning streak that ended recently and then they went on a bit of a skid. They did lose a big piece of their team in Aaron Ekblad for the 4 games that they lost in a row after the streak ended. However, it just goes to show having such a long winning streak is not easy.

Jonathan Toews was quoted saying that it was quite an impressive streak, especially with the teams they were beating. They were doing all the right thing but in the two losses they weren't doing all the right things.

Unlike the Panthers however, the Hawks experience will help them right the ship and also having the talent they do can't hurt either.

The Hawks next play division rival St. Louis Blues on Sunday who are only 4 points behind the Hawks for the division lead. There is a lot of recent history for the clubs so it will be an easy game to get pumped for. Hopefully with a win, it will be the beginning of a new winning streak.
