Kassian signs new contract with Oilers just hours ahead of Battle of Alberta

We’re just hours away from the next instalment of The Battle of Alberta and hockey fans across the entire league cannot wait. Of course, tonight’s game falls on the heels of Zack Kassian’s two game suspension for essentially rag-dolling Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk when Tkachuk refused to atone for what Kassian felt were two blindside hits.

I doubt you need a reminder, but here it is:

Big Kass is incensed! It’ll be interesting to see what transpires tonight in Edmonton. You have to imagine that Kassian will have some money on the board, especially considering this news:

No word yet on the term for Kassian’s new deal, but he has to be please with the pay bump. Now… let’s drop the puck on this game already!
