Yesterday Toronto Maple Leafs head coach called a meeting with his team’s leadership group to reportedly discuss some defensive habits. He also warned his players not to let Calgary Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk lure them into any mischief tonight.

“We think some of these things have been an issue for quite some time with some of our players and we’ve got to find a way to break that & that’s our biggest challenge,” said the Leafs’ bench boss regarding his team’s defensive play.

The message is about tightening up and getting back to “good habits” in the defensive zone. Keefe says that now’s the time for his team to take the “next step” in their defensive game.

Concerning Tkachuk though…Keefe warns his players not to get distracted by the “sideshow” that he sometimes creates.

The puck drops between the Leafs and Flames at 7pm ET, 5pm MT. Should be a beauty!
