It seems like Edmonton Oilers head coach Ken Hitchock can do no wrong at the moment.

The veteran head coach was brought in mid season after the termination of former Edmonton Oilers head coach Todd McLellan and has seemingly changed the fortunes of the Oilers franchise overnight. Now of course Hitchcock himself does not go out on the ice every night and play the game but you would be very hard pressed to deny him any credit for the Oilers drastic turn around this season. From a team that at one time seemed destined to miss the postseason yet again to a legitimate threat in the Western Conference, the timing of the Oilers turn around can not be ignored.

It seems Hitchock is having a blast of a time doing it as well and last week he began to get a little extra playful with some members of the media who were hitting him with some rather specific questions regarding specific players on his squad. It all started back on Friday when TSN Oilers reporter Ryan Rishaug asked Hitchcock a very specific series of questions regarding young forward Jesse Puljujarvi. Rishaug asked not only where Puljujarvi was expected to play in a game against the Tampa Bay Lightning but also specifically asked how much of a presence he would have alongside Oilers star Connor McDavid during 5 on 5 ice time. Hitchcock rebuffed the question with a simple but rather amusing response.

"Do you work for TSN or Tampa," responded Hitchock while grinning from ear to ear.

It was a rather amusing moment and it appears not one that Hitchcock will be quick to forget. On Saturday Rishaug introduced himself prior to asking a question as "Ryan Rishaug for TSN" and Hitchock immediately let him have it again.

"I've seen you here for a month like... I know you who are," said Hitchock, again grinning from ear to ear. "You might be good at what you do now but you were a really bad player."

The last line, as you would expect, provoked a rather loud burst of laughter from the other members of the media in attendance. Hitchcock of course seemed immensely pleased with his joke, and to his credit Rishaug seemed to take it as the playful banter that it was in the process.
