Detroit Red Wings general manager Ken Holland gave a very interesting interview today just hours ahead of his team facing off against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Holland, who for many years worked side by side with current Leafs' head coach Mike Babcock, had some very nice things to say about Toronto's squad.

"I think Toronto is one of the elite teams in the Eastern Conference," said Holland on Sportsnet's Hockey Central at Noon.

The Wings GM said he was looking forward to testing his squad against the Maple Leafs, but not before doubling down on his previous statement and making stunning comments about what he views as the potential of the Leafs.

"Again, I think they're one of the elite teams in the Eastern Conference and they are a legit Stanley Cup Contender."

Holland won a Stanley Cup in 2008 with Babcock behind the bench of the Detroit Red Wings, perhaps he sees something similar is this year's Toronto Maple Leafs.
