Kings’ Brown thanks McDavid out loud on the ice after he chooses to spare him!

He knew the Oilers captain would have scored!

The Edmonton Oilers beat the Los Angeles Kings 8-4 on Tuesday night and while the Canadian team wants to prove to everyone they can eventually become a contender, it seems like captain Connor McDavid can still be compassionate with opponents.

During the game, Oilers insider Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Sun pointed out that Kings forward Dustin Brown thanked McDavid for sparing him and his team during a short-handed rush out.

“Dustin Brown just said thank-you as Connor McDavid started to wind-up SH as Brown and a Kings’ D were back and McDavid decides to dump it in and go off rather than go right at Brown,” posted Matheson on his Twitter account.

It was clearly loud enough for the insider to notice it. Matheson is the same who raised the question about the possibility of the Oilers trading Ryan Nugent-Hopkins this summer.

To answer to his rumours, RNH recorded a hat trick in the first period of the win, which seems just the best appropriate answer to Matheson.

He wasn't alone: Leon Draisaitl also recorded a hat trick in the game!

However, we wonder if McDavid made the right decision in front of Brown. It could have been an easy goal to get the crowd going and the hopes of a better team for next season… However, this win must feel pretty good in Edmonton.
